CFM56 Market Brief — 31 August 2026

CFM56-7B Fan Blade Rules Move Closer to Implementation
Audit all -7B fan-blade inventory now. Build a list by PN/SN, CSN, last inspection, cycles since inspection, SB 72-1033 status, tag, trace and physical location. When the FAA/EASA actions move from proposal to final rule, inventory that is already inspection-ready will be easier to sell and faster to quote
Serviceable -5B/-7B Engines Remain Tight
Keep speculative buying concentrated on high-liquidity -5B/-7B material rather than generic CFM56 stock. Prioritize HPT, controls, HMU/FMU, inspected fan blades, serviceable modules and attractive green-time engines. Use the ~$11.65–12M recent -7B transactions only as valuation references, never as universal pricing benchmarks.
HPT & Traceable USM Continue to Command a Premium
Expand outbound sales beyond airline purchasing departments to regional engine shops and MRO planners. Target Jordan, Turkey, GCC and North African MRO networks with PN-specific availability lists tied to CFM56 shop findings. A five-year -5B MRO agreement such as Jordan Airmotive/Tunisair can generate recurring component requirements even when no public airline tender is visible.
Regional CFM56-5B MRO Demand Remains Strong
